This award will be made to a student in financial need with the highest admission average or cumulative grade point average who is a member of Peepeekisis First Nation (Saskatchewan), Fisher River Cree Nation (Manitoba), Bunibonibee Cree Nation (formerly known as Oxford House, Manitoba) or Norway House Cree Nation (Manitoba). If there are no students from the four priority First Nations, then the award will be made to an Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) student in financial need. The Carla Moore Award was established in 2007 by Ms Jennifer Moore Rattray, Associate Vice-President, Indigenous, Government and Community Affairs at The University of Winnipeg, in honour of her mother, a member of Peepeekisis First Nation with roots in Fisher River Cree Nation, Bunibonibee Cree Nation (formerly known as Oxford House, Manitoba) and Norway House Cree Nation. After returning to University as a mature student, Ms Carla Moore graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Winnipeg in 2000.
