Upgrades to the water treatment plant completed; operational improvements ongoing
Project tracker
Projected lift date: December 2024
Located in northern Saskatchewan, English River First Nation is home to over 700 people on reserve.
There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting approximately 43 homes and 3 community buildings:
- A boil water advisory for the La Plonge Public Water System was set in May 2023 and became long-term in May 2024
The precautionary advisory was initially put in place due to low pressure in the distribution system.
The community completed upgrades to their water treatment plant, with support from Indigenous Services Canada.
Infrastructure is in place that can produce clean drinking water. The advisory remains in place due to ongoing operational challenges. English River First Nation receives operational support from the Circuit Rider Training Program.
