About the program

This program provides funding for First Nations and Inuit communities and organizations to help support programming for sexually transmitted blood borne infections prevention, education, capacity building and raising awareness activities, as well as to facilitate access to culturally safe testing, treatment and social support for First Nations and Inuit communities.

Who can apply

First Nations and Inuit communities and organizations, as well as National Indigenous Organizations serving First Nations and Inuit communities.

The fiscal year 2024 to 2025 call for proposals to support First Nations and Inuit STBBI projects and initiatives is now closed. The deadline to submit a proposal was June 5, 2024 at 11:59 pm, Pacific Time.

How to apply

Applicants must submit a detailed proposal to the general STBBI inbox at ITSS-STBBI@sac-isc.gc.ca.

Projects or initiatives may focus on HIV self-testing, HIV and other STBBI point-of-care testing, culturally safe STBBI care and harm reduction. Single-year and multi-year proposals ending in fiscal year 2026 to 2027 are eligible for submission.

Note that vehicle purchase or lease, for the purpose of mobile clinics or outreach, will be considered for this callout. Vehicle maintenance and insurance will not be approved.

Submitting a proposal does not guarantee funding. All proposals will include regional review and consideration. ISC may request further details and clarification on any proposal submitted for consideration.

Communities and organizations who do not submit proposals for funding this year will have an opportunity next year.
