Response to parliamentary committees
There were five parliamentary committee reports requiring a government response in 2022-23:
- Government Response to the Seventh Report of the Standing Senate Committee on Indigenous Peoples (APPA), Make it Stop! Ending the remaining discrimination in Indian registration (tabled February 23, 2023)
- Government Response to the Third Report of the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs (INAN), The Effects of the Housing Shortage on Indigenous Peoples in Canada (tabled October 17, 2022)
- Government Response to the Fifteenth Report of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (PACP), Health Resources for Indigenous Communities (tabled September 15, 2022)
- Government Response to the Second Report of the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs (INAN), Barriers to Economic Development in Indigenous Communities (tabled on September 15, 2022).
- Government Response to the Third Report of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (PACP), Access to Safe Drinking Water in First Nations Communities (tabled June 9, 2022)
In addition, a report was tabled in the House of Commons titled: Progress Report on the Implementation of the Default Prevention and Management 2017: Report of the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs (Sessional Paper No. 8525-441-16) (tabled September 26, 2022)
Response to audits conducted by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada (including audits conducted by the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development)
There was one audit conducted in 2022-23: Report 8 - Emergency Management in First Nation Communities.
This audit focused on whether Indigenous Services Canada provided the emergency management support needed by First Nations communities to manage emergencies. Seven recommendations were addressed to Indigenous Services Canada. The departmental response to address each recommendation can be found in the report, in the section title "Recommendations and Responses" (tabled November 15, 2022)

There were no audits in 2022-23 requiring a response.
