Okanese First Nation in Saskatchewan is home to 190 people. The community broke ground on a new water treatment plant in April 2024.
There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting 43 homes and 3 community buildings:
- a boil water advisory on the Okanese Public Water System was set in August 2020 and became long-term in August 2021
Construction of a new water treatment plant to meet the long-term needs of the community began in spring 2024. It is expected to be complete in spring 2026.
Okanese First Nation receives operational support from the Circuit Rider Training Program.
