Project tracker
Projected lift date: Spring 2028
Oneida Nation of the Thames, in Ontario, is home to 2,230 people on reserve. The community is working on a solution to meet their long-term water needs, including a connection to an existing municipal water system and distribution system upgrades.
There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory affecting 550 homes and 26 community buildings:
- a boil water advisory on the Oneida Public Water System was set in September 2019 and became long-term in September 2020
Design of a connection to an existing municipal water system including on-reserve distribution upgrades and extensions is complete, and the project is currently being tendered. Construction is expected to take two years. Once construction of the necessary on-reserve infrastructure is complete and the community has connected to the municipal water system, the community should be able to lift the advisory.
