Ontario region serves the largest on-reserve status and overall status populations in Canada.
The region operates:
- 6 offices
- 6 federal schools
- 21 nursing stations
- 11 health centres
The region works closely with a number of partners in the funding and delivery of essential programs. Partners include:
- First Nations
- 5 funded Ontario Indigenous representative organizations
- 16 tribal councils
- the Government of Ontario
- regional partners
The region supports Indigenous peoples in making improvements to:
- community infrastructure
- land and economic development
- assuming control of service delivery through self-determination
The region also works to improve access to high-quality services and the well-being of communities across Ontario.
