Ref.: 2016-17 recipient audit results and follow-up

Dear Chief Moses and Council:

Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), currently operating as Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) and Indigenous Services Canada conducted a number of recipient audits in fiscal year 2016-17, including an audit of Pehdzeh Ki First Nation. Please find attached a copy of the full audit report and the summary report. This management letter and the summary report will be published in the coming weeks. Should you wish, you may provide a written response, pertaining to this audit within 30 days. Your response will also be published.

The audit report includes recommendations to assist in improving management practices. We look forward to working together to develop a plan to address the management recommendations.

As a result of this recipient audit, a non-compliant amount has been identified and is subject to recovery. A regional representative of CIRNAC will contact you shortly to discuss the next steps including a repayment calendar.
