Ref: 2016–17 recipient audit results and follow-up

Dear Board of Directors:

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), formerly Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), conducted a number of recipient audits in fiscal year 2016–17, including an audit of Anishinaabeg of Kabapikotawangag Resource Council Inc. Please find attached the summary of the audit report and full audit report. This management letter and the summary report will be published on the department's website in due time. Should you wish, you may provide a written response to me, pertaining to this audit within 30 days. Your response will also be posted on the department's website.

The audit report includes recommendations to assist in improving management practices. We look forward to working together to develop a plan to address the management recommendations.

As a result of this recipient audit, a non-compliant amount has been identified and is subject to recovery. A regional representative of ISC will contact you shortly to discuss the next steps including a repayment schedule.
