About the ISC services portal
The ISC services portal is a secure departmental system designed to:
- modernize data collection
- provide web-based reporting
- manage education reporting requirements
The portal is a gateway to various systems. It provides access to a variety of tools, including the Education Information System and the Education Reports and Analysis Solution, that allow funding recipients to view and manage their reporting requirements.
Other benefits include:
- an easy system to navigate, with many tools to assist users such as Online Help
- information accessible online in a timely manner
- users' access to their own data and capacity to customize system views to highlight their most important information
- online reporting system to submit reports, reducing time and effort for users
- the portal is the authoritative source for all education reporting forms
- data protection by allowing access to only those who require it and are registered
Education Information System
The Education Information System allows ISC and Indigenous partners to:
- have a better understanding of program performance
- address concerns faster and make program changes as required
Other benefits include:
- information is collected once into 1 system and there is a common look-and-feel across all reports
- First Nations with existing school information systems can upload information directly to the system
- the system provides online data capture capabilities to Indigenous partners for many of the education programs
Education Reporting and Analysis Solution
The Education Reporting and Analysis Solution (ERAS) is the business intelligence reporting component that accompanies the Education Information System. The information from ERAS allows ISC and First Nations users to make informed decisions about their education priorities.
Information in ERAS is depersonalized and grouped so that no single person can be identified.
ISC supports First Nations control of First Nations education, which includes providing First Nations with access to their education data via the ERAS.
Other benefits include:
- variety of reports are available for elementary, secondary education and post-secondary education
- elementary and secondary education data is refreshed daily to provide up to date information
- ERAS is easily accessed from the services menu
